The Museum of Illusions Maastricht is turning five—and we’re celebrating with our very first Illusion Festival! Join us on Saturday, June 21st for a free one-day event filled with magic, creativity, and mind-bending fun right in the heart of Mosae Forum. From optical illusions and interactive installations to hands-on workshops and spectacular live performances, this outdoor festival promises fun for all ages!
Throughout the day, guests can immerse themselves in a vibrant atmosphere filled with experiences that spark curiosity and ignite the imagination. A festival highlight is renowned illusionist Nigel Otermans, who will take the stage for two captivating performances, guiding audiences through a spellbinding blend of illusion, humour, and audience participation that’s sure to amaze both young and old. Also joining the festivities is the delightful Clown Tallie, bringing smiles to young visitors with her colourful balloon creations and playful charm.
In addition to the main stage, visitors can take part in engaging activities such as a Camera Obscura workshop, put their skills to the test with brain-teasing puzzles, and snap unforgettable photos in our illusion-themed Photobooth. Local businesses across Mosae Forum will also be joining in the celebration, offering pop-up experiences and exclusive promotions making the festival a city-wide celebration of creativity and connection!
